Supporting Music Worcester for More than 40 Years

In its role as the volunteer arm of Music Worcester, the Music Guild is an important part of the cultural life of Worcester, providing financial and educational support to its parent organization. One of its most valuable contributions is yearly financial sponsorship of the opening concert of the Music Festival Season. The Guild banner is proudly hung in the lobby of Mechanics Hall, signifying the close and important bond between the Guild and Music Worcester.

The Music Guild contributes to the Young Artist Competition that is held in the spring of each year. The competition awards prizes to four musically talented youths in the Greater Worcester area who audition before a panel of judges. One of the judges is drawn from the Guild membership, and the Guild contributes the substantial First Prize. The Music Guild winner performs for Guild membership at its annual Spring Luncheon.

Music education and outreach are an important part of the Guild's mission.  Its Music To Go program provides funds for groups of local professional musicians to go into Worcester elementary schools to present interesting, entertaining concerts to the students that demonstrate the various instruments of the orchestra.  In addition, in the spring and fall, the Guild sponsors a series of lectures on a variety of musical topics, that are open to the public as well as to members.

You are cordially invited to become a member of the Music Guild and to enjoy its musicales, lectures and social events in the company of other music lovers. For further information on membership or activities, contact Music Worcester at music@musicworcester.org or call the Music Worcester office at 508.754.3231.
