Music To Go

Bringing musicians to the public schools

The Music Guild of Music Worcester brings professional musicians and ensembles into the Worcester Public Schools each year, complementing existing music programs, and often serving as a younger child's introduction to orchestral and band instruments and the music associated with them outside of school settings.  This program, Music-to-Go serves a specific elementary grade level each year, with cross-curricular components included so the students can relate their introduction to band and orchestra instruments to the sciences and math.  Recent years have seen the Music-to-Go program focus on the third, fourth, and fifth grades of Worcester Public Schools.

The depth of the program varies each year depending on funding.  A full funded year for Music-to-Go allows the program to reach across every elementary school in the Worcester Public Schools.  In other years a rotation occurs across the City to ensure that the Music-to-Go program reaches students from all over the City.

Donations specifically to support the Music-to-Go program are gladly accepted by The Music Guild year-round.  Simply use this online donation form, indicating your desire to have your contribution support Music-to-Go in the acknowledgement area, or contact Anna Granquist, Treasurer of the Music Guild, at 38 Fort Sumter Dr, Holden, MA 01520.
