Don't know Mr. Kaplan's name? None other than Anthony Tommasini, lead critic of the NY Times, voted his 2015 performance of Schumann as one of the best concerts of the year. He's played as part of Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Tanglewood, Mostly Mozart Festival, and Barge Music. The best part of his upcoming appearance on March 20 - he's performing the same work Tommasini enjoyed so much - Schumann's Davidsbündlertänze - here in Worcester!

Mr. Kaplan recently commissioned a number of composers to write works in response to Schumann, and one of them was Caroline Shaw.

Member of Roomful of Teeth, Pulitzer Prize winner for composition, star violinist - Caroline Shaw can pretty much do it all.
Schumann's piano works are beloved and feared - beloved for their melodies and feared by pianists for their difficulty! Mr. Kaplan will perform Schumann's seminal work, Davidsbündlertänze, as part of the March 20 concert, while also performing works he commissioned in response to Schumann's magnum opus.
