The Music Guild

The Music Guild For more than forty years in its role as the volunteer arm of Music Worcester, the Music Guild has been an important part of the cultural life of Worcester, providing financial and educational support to its parent organization.

One of the most important contributions of the Music Guild to Music Worcester is its yearly financial sponsorship of the opening night concert of the Music Festival Season.  The Guild banner is proudly hung in the lobby of Mechanics Hall, signifying the close and important bond between the Guild and Music Worcester.

The Music Guild contributes to the Young Artist Competition which is held in the Spring of each year.  This competition awards prizes to the four most musically talented youths in the Greater Worcester area who audition before a panel of judges.  One of the judges is from the Guild membership, and the Guild supplies the money for the substantial First Prize.  The Music Guild First Prize winner then performs for the Guild membership at its Annual Spring Luncheon.

Music education and outreach are an important part of the Music Guild's mission.  Its Music To Go program provides the funds for groups of local professional musicians to go into Worcester elementary schools to present interesting an entertaining concerts that demonstrate the various instruments of the orchestra to the students.  In addition, in the Spring and Fall, the Guild sponsors a series of lectures, on varied musical topics, that are open to the public as well as to members.

You are cordially invited to become a member of the Music Guild and to enjoy its musicales, lectures, and social events in the company of other music lovers.  For further information on membership or activities, contact Music Worcester at music [at] musicworcester [dot] org or call the Music Worcester office at 508-754-3231.
