Letter from a Child

I received the following letter in the mail today from a child who had complimentary tickets (care of our educational partner, Walnut Hill School) to see Yeol eum Son play last week:

Dear Mrs. Potts,

Thank you for the tickets for the concert. The concert was really good. My favorite piece was a Wedding March from a Midsummer Night's Dream. I really liked how Yeol eum Son played the pieces. The concert inspired me to want to learn this piece of A Midsummer Night Dream. I look forward to seeing more live pianists.

I passed the letter on to Yeol eum and know that this will make her day as it did mine! Who knows? Maybe this young piano student will one day be the up and coming pianist on tour...or maybe he will pass his love of music onto his own children or students...or perhaps he will one day run an arts organization that makes sure students have access to concerts. Whatever this young man does when he is grown, there is one thing I know for certain, his musical childhood will influence the man he will one day become and the world will be a better place because of it!
