Overview

The Worcester Chorus celebrates 150 spectacular years of performing "The Best of the Best" for The Worcester Music Festival, and welcomes Maestro Christopher Shepard for his inaugural season as Artistic Director of the Worcester Chorus.  This concert is a look back at some of the most beloved choral music of the earliest years...featuring works of Bach, Handel, Haydn, Brahms, Faure, Mendelssohn, and concluding with "The Ode to Joy" from Beethoven's 9th Symphony.  The chorus will be accompanied in the grand 19th century style by world-renowned organist Ian Watson on the magnificent Hook organ in Mechanics Hall, the chorus' home of over a century and a half.
