Music Worcester Welcomes Lisa Dutton-Swain as Office Administrative Assistant

New Festival Season Benefits from Additions to Staff

Music Worcester, Inc., presenter of the Worcester Music Festival, is pleased to welcome Lisa Dutton-Swain in the position of Office Lisa Dutton-SwainAdministrative Assistant.  Dutton-Swain holds a BA in Psychology and Music from the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont, where her concentration was in Vocal Performance.  Following her undergraduate work, Dutton-Swain went on to work with the Washington National Opera and the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, where her interest in development and marketing for nonprofit arts organizations blossomed.  As her interest in business and cultivation grew, Dutton-Swain returned to academics to complete her Graduate Certificate in Foundations of Business at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.  She hopes to continue her education and complete her MBA in the near future.  By combining her passions for music and people, Dutton-Swain is “excited to start her career with Music Worcester to inspire the younger generations to appreciate the classic arts that the flourishing Worcester area has to offer”.  Lisa Dutton-Swain currently resides in Princeton with her two dogs, Peanut and Cleo, and seven chickens; she is also an active member of the Worcester Chorus, and Greater Worcester Adult Soccer Association.

 The Worcester Music Festival is the oldest Music Festival in the United States, and carries a rich history, including that of the distinguished Worcester Chorus.  Since 1858 it has been pre-eminent in presenting great performances by world-renowned orchestras and guest soloists, chamber music, ballet, world music and dance, jazz and choral masterworks in the best venues in Worcester. The Music Guild, a volunteer organization associated with Music Worcester, supports music programs for students and The Young Artist Scholarship Competition.

Music Worcester Inc. has made "a tradition of excellence" its hallmark and its Worcester Music Festival has been recognized by the Library of Congress. Music Worcester, Inc. offices are located in Mechanics Hall at 323 Main Street in the heart of downtown Worcester.
