WPI Fraternity Sponsors Music Worcester
Worcester, MA – A group of young men from the campus of Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity raised money at a campus music event to support Music Worcester’s initiatives to bring classical music concerts to young audiences.
From blues & funk, to rock & metal, students enjoyed an evening of music and these dedicated fraternity brothers collected donations and passed them on to Music Worcester. In February, Music Worcester, Inc. presented the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra (New England Conservatory of Music), with Benjamin Zander conducting.
The fraternity chose Music Worcester, Inc. because of the non-profit music organization’s long history of - and dedication to - classical music performance in Worcester. Music Worcester, Inc. also presents a young artist competition each spring, which offers music scholarships to musicians aged 12-18 years old.
Fraternity brothers were invited to a concert themselves and enjoyed the performance of the State Symphony of Russia presented by Music Worcester, Inc.
