Young Artist Competition 2010 Winners Announced - Congratulations to ALL participating Musicians
A remarkable group of 23 young musicians participated in this year's Young Artist Competition on May 5, 2010, held at Alden Memorial Hall on the campus of Worcester Polytechnic Institute. As part of Music Worcester, the Music Guild established the scholarship in 1986. In 1989 a bequest was made in memory of Sylvia Gafvert Stubblebine, a life-long Worcester resident and Music Guild member, in order to fund an annual income for additional scholarship monies. The prizes are awarded to students from the Worcester area studying instrumental classical music at a music school, private teacher, and/or accredited college or university.
The winners: Seohee Min, 17, of Southborough took the Music Guild 1st Prize, Brendan Dooley, 15, of Worcester won the 1st Stubblebine Prize, Lydia Consilvio, 16, of Auburn, 2nd Stubblebine, and Lan Wang, 16, of Westborough won the 3rd Stubblebine Prize.
First Prize winner Seohee Min has been invited to perform at the Music Guild's Annual Spring Luncheon at Tatnuck Country Club in Worcester on May 26th. Additional prizewinners will be invited to perform at a variety of Music Worcester and other functions.
