Young Artist Competition Winner Performs at Music Worcester Annual Meeting

WORCESTER, MA - Sept. 24, 2010 - Alden Memorial Hall, on the campus of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, was the venue Tuesday night for the Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors of Music Worcester, Inc., the presenter of the Worcester Music Festival. Following brief reports from the Executive Director, Board Officers, Worcester Chorus President, and various committees, a performance was given by one of the scholarship winners from last May's Young Artist Competition. Each Spring Music Worcester administers a Young Artist Competition, with prizes given by the Music Guild and The Greater Worcester Community Foundation.Lydia Consilvio performs at Annual Meeting

Lydia Consilvio is a National Honor Society member and award-winning musician who has performed with ensembles at Symphony Hall, Harvard University and WPI, among others. She began piano studies at age 7, oboe at 12, and has been a member of The Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra since 2008. Lydia has performed with The Claflin Hill Symphony and at the New York Summer Music Festival. She has also played the oboe and English horn in pit orchestras for many stage events.

Lydia's performance was followed by a reception given by Music Worcester.
