They’ve subsequently played a variety of styles in a number of different groups\, as well as with their father\, jazz giant Dave Brubeck\, and with their own Brubeck Brothers Quartet. With Dan and Chris as the foundation\, guitarist Mike DeMicco and pianist Chuck Lamb\, complete this dynamic quartet.  They perform at concert series\, colleges\, and jazz festivals across North America and Europe including the Newport\, Detroit\, Montreal\, Playboy/Hollywood Bowl\, and Monterey Jazz Festivals. \nThese versatile musicians also collaborate with orchestras all across the U.S. as well as internationally. With Chris Brubeck’s compositions as a vehicle\, the BBQ has performed with chamber/orchestral groups such as the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra\, the Philadelphia Orchestra\, the Russian National Symphony Orchestra and the Singapore Chinese Orchestra. \nAlthough the Quartet’s style is rooted in “straight-ahead” jazz\, their concerts reveal an inherent ability to explore and play odd time signatures while naturally integrating the influences of funk\, blues and world music.The group’s creativity\, technique and improvisation can be heard in their uncompromising music\, which reflects their dedication to melody\, rhythm\, culture and the spontaneous spirit of jazz. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Featured Performer: Taylor Eigsti\, piano\n New York-based pianist and composer Taylor Eigsti started playing the piano when he was four years old. Growing up in Menlo Park\, CA\, Eigsti was quickly labeled a prodigy\, and has since released 7 albums as a bandleader\, in addition to appearing on over 50 albums as a sideman. \nEigsti has garnered multiple individual GRAMMY Award nominations over the years for his work as a recording artist and composer\, including Best Instrumental Composition\, and Best Jazz Instrumental Solo. Eigsti also co-wrote a featured composition with Don Cheadle for the 2017 GRAMMY-winning soundtrack to the motion picture “Miles Ahead”. \nDon’t miss your chance to see him perform with the Brubeck Brothers Quartet! \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Search for:\n \n \n \n Music Worcester\, Inc.\n 319 Main Street | Mechanics Hall | Worcester MA | 01608-1511 \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n The BBQ attains that rarefield level where music is both relaxed and expressive\, and their joy in its creation is contagious. This collaboration between Prof. Megan Ross‘s “Introduction to Music” class at the College of the Holy Cross and Music Worcester features a local perspective on this work with interviews from members of the Worcester Chorus.  A link will be provided here prior to December 13 – please check back soon!\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n For Conductors\n If you would like to use a recording of the live event for your own virtual rehearsal with your choir\, we will make a recording available between December 15th and 24th.  You can find information about this project and purchase a Conductor ticket at the link below.\n \n \n \n Virtual Messiah Sing for Conductors\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Follow Along With The Score\n Click the button below to link to a downloadable PDF of the complete sheet music score for Handel’s Messiah. \n \n \n \n Download Messiah Score\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Search for:\n \n \n \n Music Worcester\, Inc.\n 319 Main Street | Mechanics Hall | Worcester MA | 01608-1511 \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n These ears have rarely encountered so glorious a version as that presented at Mechanics Hall as part of Music Worcester’s 160th anniversary season. \n --Tyran Grillo\n Telegram & Gazette \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Louise Fauteux\nSoprano\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Agnes Vojtko\nMezzo-Soprano\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Kirk Bobkowski\nTenor\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Alexander Patrie\nBass\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Chris Shepard\nThe Worcester Chorus\nDirector\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Mark Mummert\nThe Worcester Chorus\nAssociate Director URL:https://www.musicworcester.org/event/handelsmessiah/ LOCATION:ON DEMAND\, Pre-recorded concert with flexible viewing option(s).
