Handel's Messiah The Worcester Chorus, soloists, Festival Singers, and orchestra conductor Chris Shepard
Saturday, December 3, 2016
Mechanics Hall at 8 PM

For Immediate Release -  November,  2016

Worcester - An annual holiday tradition for well over a hundred years, the performance of Handel's oratorio The Messiah is one of the highlights of The Worcester Chorus season each year, creating musical memories for generations of Worcester audiences.  The 100+ voices of a semi-professional chorus are joined by Festival Singers, a student group mentored by Worcester Chorus adult singers every year.  Distinguished professional soloists and the Festival Orchestra add to a truly magnificent performance directed/conducted by Dr. Chris Shepard and taking place in the perfect acoustics and wonderfully decorated setting of Mechanics Hall in Worcester.

This year the Chorus is running a fundraising campaign for a video recording of the performance, which is being filmed by and will run on a local television station. Realizing that, although a live performance is the ultimate experience, there are those who cannot attend.
