The Worcester Chorus, formed in 1858, performs several choral classics with full orchestra annually from the stage at historic Mechanics Hall. Recent programs have included Mozart’s Requiem, Verdi’s Requiem, Brahms’ Requiem, Bach’s St. John Passion, Orff’s Carmina Burana, and an annual holiday presentation of Handel’s Messiah.
In addition to Worcester Chorus directors Chris Shepard and Mark Mummert, this presentation will feature the Worcester Festival Orchestra and vocal soloists Jennifer Ferrand Kelly (soprano I), Louise Fauteux (soprano II), Agnes Vojtko (alto), Matthew Anderson (tenor), and Jonathan Stinson (bass).
Did you know artistic director Chris Shepard has a podcast series called Conductor In Sweatpants? Released last summer, this episodic series highlights the historical context and significance of history’s great choral works.
